ABOUT GIRLS 4 HOCKEY

Established in 2016, Girls 4 Hockey (G4H) was created to foster continued growth of the women’s game by providing supplemental skill development opportunities for girls/women’s ice hockey players of all ages and levels.  All programs are led by experienced current and former women’s ice hockey players, who help participating athletes build confidence both on and off the ice.  G4H also recruits and trains young coaches in hopes that they will coach in their future communities. Though G4H programs primarily target girls/women’s ice hockey players, G4H also supports and creates community-based initiatives that help grow the game for all.

G4H's Core 4 Goals:

1) Provide girls/women's ice hockey players with a variety of supplemental skill development opportunities outside of their typical programs where they can receive high-level instruction from an experienced coaching staff who played high-level women's ice hockey.

2) Build the personal confidence of players by helping them identify individual strengths and areas of focus, while creating a supportive environment and taking away fear of failure through positive reinforcement.

3) Recruit and train talented past/present players who are interested in gaining coaching experience in hopes that their time coaching for G4H will lead them to future coaching positions within their communities.

4) Support and create community-based initiatives that help grow the game for players of all genders, ages, races, etc. including programs that help retain current players, while engaging new ones.
