Power Skating & Puck Control
Summer Series

For summer 2025, G4H will be offering a bi-weekly a Power Skating and Puck Control series for female, female-identifying, and non-binary players.  The goal of these sessions is to help players increase their power, agility, and overall speed by focusing on edgework, balance, stride mechanics, and more.  While the main focus is skating development, participants will also work with pucks in tandem with skating skills to increase their ability to possess, protect, and control the puck.  Sessions are split by age and skill level with both intermediate, advanced, and adult women's options available as outlined below.

Intermediate Power Skating & Puck Control

BIRTH YEARS 2010-2016

The intermediate level is designed for players with foundational skating skills, these sessions will work through stride mechanics, forward and backwards edgework, and transitional skating with a focus on stride technique, acceleration, and power. Pucks will then be added to help players handle and possess the puck while skating and better understand when to apply which techniques against opponents.

Advanced Power Skating and Puck Control

BIRTH YEARS 2007 - 2012

This level is geared towards advanced skaters looking to increase their edge control, quickness, and explosivity.  Sessions will focus on refining existing edgework and skating mechanics to maximize agility, power, and overall speed. Pucks will be added to simulate game situations where players can combine edgework, agility, and puck control to possess the puck and crate space against defenders.

Adult Power Skating & Puck Control

Ages 18+

This option is designed to help adults of all skill levels hone skating technique and puck skills.  The skating portion of each session will focus on foundational edgework that supports speed, power, posture, and balance in both forward and backwards skating. Pucks will then be added to help player carry and possess the puck with confidence and control, while using edgework to evade opposing players.
